.NET Micro Framework: small subset of WPF APIs included in their embeddable version of .NET
@ Teched, I was happy to talk with Frank La Vigne, a Microsoft MVP, about Tablets and WPF a bit. He asks "Does your coffee maker need WPF?" in Framework on a Chip, a post that talks about the .NET Micro Framework.
It doesn’t need the full WPF for embedded programming scenarios, but the .NET Micro Framework team thought it would be valuable to have similar APIs for their UI to WPF. There are a few types that look very familiar in some of their namespaces: Microsoft.SPOT.Presentation, Microsoft.SPOT.Presentation.Controls, Microsoft.SPOT.Presentation.Media, and Microsoft.SPOT.Presentation.Shapes.
No Xaml, but similar APIs…
